i'd like to see a quality remake of "the martian chronicles." i'd like it to be either a tv miniseries available for rental on netflix via DVD, or a movie in theatres.

MGM bought the film rights to The Martian Chronicles in 1960, but nothing happened.

As of 2012, the film rights are currently in the hands of execs
at Paramount Pictures, so only time could allow it.

On the other hand, a movie (or a series of movies) about The Lewis & Clark Expedition would be nice.

thanx for the update :star:

I wish there would be Dracula movie that got all the details in the book right and was 100 percent faithful to the orginal novel but sadly that will never happen.

Closest is Bram Stokers Dracula, minus the love story subplot between Mina and Dracula. Otherwise it's as faithful to the book as any film adaptation is likely to be. It's also my favorite just because of how it looks and feels.

The original film did a good job imo for a movie that was just an hour long.

What I want is a book accurate Frankenstein, but that would be even harder to do. It's a novel from the early nineteen Century and just doesn't lend itself well to a screenplay. Right now Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is the closest, but I can't give it an A grade.

Horror films of the silver screen era were very different from their modern counterparts.

They need a shining remake that is closer to the book.

Nothing against the Kubrick one, it is my favorite movie period, but it veers so far from the book that it leaves room for another movie which is closer to the book, which is in itself very good.

Also with modern CGI they could do the hedges justice. [read the book]

Son of the Brown Bunny
Salo 2

The Man from UNCLE 2

Eternal Sunshine 2

Lars and the Real Girl 2

Her 2

Blade Runner 3 (not kidding on this one)

Tower Heist 2

District 10 (I've mentioned this one before, mind you)

The Indian in the Cupboard 2

The Nightmare Before Christmas 2

The Grinch 2 (for the 2018 version with The Grinch using his old ways to fight a similar character who hates a different holiday like say Valentine's Day, Easter, or Halloween)

Kubo and the Two Strings 2

The Long Walk (an adaptation of Stephen King's book of the same name)

@ Brother Tim Tex: How would a sequel to Last Tango in Paris even work?
I'm confused. :?

There is a Blade 3. The Wesley Snipes films were Blade, Blade II, and Blade Trinity.

No...you read it wrong.

Blade Runner (which was directed by Ridley Scott)

Blade Runner 2049 (which was directed by Denis Villuienve; sorry about the spelling)

Could a Blade Runner 3 happen?

As for the Marvel character Blade, the people who run Marvel Studios
are developing new Blade movies for the MCU.
