i'd like to see a quality remake of "the martian chronicles." i'd like it to be either a tv miniseries available for rental on netflix via DVD, or a movie in theatres.

MGM bought the film rights to The Martian Chronicles in 1960, but nothing happened.

As of 2012, the film rights are currently in the hands of execs
at Paramount Pictures, so only time could allow it.

On the other hand, a movie (or a series of movies) about The Lewis & Clark Expedition would be nice.

There was a Seventies made for TV movie adaptation of it that was rather descent.

I remember watching it, back in grade school.

The 1979 mini-series got a negative reception from Ray Bradbury.

As was his right, I suppose, as he he had written the book.

A live-action version of the novel Howl's Moving Castle. Based on the book entirely, no changes to any of the characters or the plot.

That's a tall order for any book to movie screenplay because the media are completely different.

I laughed hysterically when I saw that as a kid.

Source Code 2

IMO, this is one of the best time-travel movies ever made, but the ending
left so many questions unanswered.

I'd love to see a movie made about the struggle between the covertly Anti-Nazi head of the Abwehr (German military intelligence), Wilhelm Cannaris, and SS second-in-command, Rheinhardt Heydrich. There has been a documentary about this on the History Channel, but I'd love to see a dramatization of the strange relationship between these two men.
There had been almost a father/son relationship between these two men, and yet they were rivals in that not only was Heydrich plotting to seize control of the Abwehr, but he also suspected how Cannaris and his associates were covertly causing their missions to fail while keeping the allies secretly informed about Hitler's plans. On top of that, while Heydrich was very much the architect of the Holocaust, Cannaris and many agents of the Abwehr were trying to rescue as many Jews as they could (years after the Spielberg film, it was learned how Oskar Schindler had been working for Cannaris as an agent). And yet, after Heydrich, this most dangerous man who even the other Nazis despised had died after an assassination attempt, Cannaris had been the only one who had expressed any empathy for him.
Aspects that I'd love to see play out is how Cannaris had seemingly been trying to save not only his soul but that of his country by working secretly against Hitler, while Heydrich seemingly wanted to kill all the Jews because he believed it would wash away his secret he desperately tried hiding - - that he himself had Jewish ancestry.
Unfortunately, there was no happy ending for Cannaris, as he was in the end hanged with piano wire after the failed Stauffenberg bomb plot meant to kill hitler, which the Abwehr chief had been involved with.

The true story of how autistics took over the world ending lying, incompetence, hypocrisy, unnecessary noise, and small talk.

You have not heard that movies often are about fantasy and escapism?

This guy's life story.

Had heard of the Joseph Bologne, and how he was called "the Black Mozart", but didnt realize what an amazing person, he was, nor how his life was affected by the tumult of his times.

Also- apparently one of his most formidable fencing opponents was a woman who sometimes id'd as a man - who deserves a movie too!
