Just had my 12 week pregnancy ultrasound, and it was amazing! My baby was wiggling and squirming around, even did a backflip. It's so amazing seeing them move!

Sounds like they're going to be heavily into sports. :jester:

^ You know, the daughter who wiggled a lot inside me is now quite talented in dancing and rock climbing :)

Ha, ha. My daughter didn't move hardly a muscle during any ultrasound. She is quite adept at sitting completely still as a child also (more still than most others). My son on the other hand did flips in utero and he does as a child also (more in motion than most others). Time will tell for your child! :) Congrats on your lively babe!! !

Incredibly exciting watching them develop. Hope all continues to go well.

That's so wonderful! Congratulations and best wishes!

You must be totally excited!

(I used to call my daughter "Sharkie" when I could see her elbow move across my stomach). :P

It’s so nice to read about a baby having fun in the womb.

My son's in-utero nickname was "boomer".

All three of my kids personalities reflect their in-utero behaviors.

I went to every ultrasound and visit with my wife when she was carrying.

I'm now 35 weeks along and my kid is as wiggly as ever! It hurts now, kid keeps punching my bladder and kicking my lungs. I'm really looking forward to being able to see those wiggles instead of feeling every single one.

Means your child is healthy.
If the wiggles stop you can worry

Almost there!! ! Congrats.

Looks like you'll have a very active child. My wiggly embryo is now 8 and still is on the move constantly. (My non-wiggly embryo is 10 and still can sit still longer than anyone.)

TMI - I am both wiggly and hyperfocused --- I have two genetic defects on my MTHFR, apparently one is correlated with ASD and one is correlated with ADHD. Interestingly DNA testing confirmed my hyperfocused (ASD) mother gave me the ASD-correlated one and I would bet I passed that to my hyperfocused daughter, and testing confirmed my wiggly dad (the H in ADHD) gave me the ADHD-correlated one and I bet I passed that to my wiggly son.

It's really exciting that you're getting so close. I've been following your pregnancy journey since you first announced it, and I think you're going to be a very devoted, informed, and amazing mother for your little one. I really admire your decision to conceive a child on your own terms, as well as your determination as a single parent.

The next few weeks will be tiring so rest up the best you can. I'm sure you're keeping track of the baby's movements and doing kick-counts. Don't hesitate to go to hospital if your baby's activity level decreases, or even if you notice a sudden increase in movement. When I was expecting we didn't have hand-held Dopplers at home, but I've heard there are all sorts of personal tracking apps and monitors now.

Take photos of your lovely belly, drink lots of water, and enjoy the home stretch.

I look forward to swapping tales in my Single Parenting thread.

Best wishes,
Issy
