Before word broke out, I was imagining Tom Cruise as Jones.

As for who should play Congressman Michael Ryan of Texas (the one who personally tried to take Jones down), Matthew McConaughey or Jared Leto and maybe this could be a movie worth a watch.

Regarding directors, many have mentioned in the comments that David Fincher should direct and I say this could finally bring David Fincher his Oscar due that he should have received for The Social Network.
