Is there a big difference in the way society treats a 5ft10 guy vs a 5ft7 man? When I mean treated I am referring to things like dating opportunities and height prejudice etc....

No it's not....i would look into getting surgery.

Many people have a tendency to be judgmental and cruel, bullying those in which they see an insecurity. It is, unfortunately, the way of the world, and there is no way to avoid it altogether. That being said, there are also kind and unprejudiced people there.

I think the more pressing question is whether you actually want to be dating someone who is shallow enough to place any importance on height.

Why are you still obsessed with your height?

As is implied in my previous post, this would vary on a case-by-case basis.

I'm sure there are research articles/studies out there on the subject, but I'm not going to spend my energy deep diving into that when you are just as capable.

I'm 5 foot 5. I'm not really treated that much differently than taller guys.

I don't feel 5 foot 7/5 foot 8 is really all that short. 5 foot 8 would be about 1 inch below "average" height.

Average height for men in US and UK is 5ft10 so it’s 2.5 under average

In the US, it's more like 5 foot 9 1/2

I am also at least 2 inches under average in the UK lol

Nothing to get a complex about---that's for sure.

Now....if you were 4 foot 11, then I would consider you really short. That's very short for a man.

Bruno Mars, great star that he is, is even shorter than me, at 5 foot 4.

Never really got into his music

He is a zillionaire.....that I know. And women dig him.

I really don't KNOW his music.

I have heard a few tracks from him but I am more into pop kinda music.

The sources I have say Bruno is 5'5...but whether he's 5'4 or 5'5, that's surprising. Never knew that I'm taller than him. I have a friend who is around 6'7 and I look absolutely short compared to that guy (I'm 5'8). Most of us are around 5'4 - 6'3 though, he's a rather tall exception in our group. I've never asked whether his height puts others off, it seems a rude question to ask. However, I suspect it might.

I don't think there's much difference between 5'7 and 5'10, certainly not worth fretting over. Being slightly under the national height isn't the end of the world. People are unlikely to pay it much mind, and those that do aren't worth giving much mind to.

I've known fairly short men who went on to have long-lasting relationships (even with taller women). My father-in-law is 5'5" and has been married to my mother-in-law for over 40 years. She is 5'11". I've also known a little person (below 4'10") who was happily married to and had a child with a 5'10" woman.

Furthermore, some of the most popular boys in my grade school were actually on the "short" side.
