Do you have difficulties taking the subway?
If so, for what reason? Many people with ASD need what I think Americans call paratransit but I take the metro. I rather skip paratransit as I can easily ride a train.

Portland has buses, streetcars, and light rail.

I'm not picky about public transit.

We just have buses and trains. In December and January our train line will be disrupted so they can link up the train line in the eastern suburbs to our line in the western suburbs. It will take 20 days. I'm hoping that I don't have to catch the train during those days because there won't be one to catch!

I’d rather drive….but I’m forced to take public transit.

I like trains better than buses. We have an extensive transit system in NYC. Most people only take trains or buses…but some take ferries, too.

I miss the subway.
We have train, busses, and ferries.
I like riding them - I can read instead of just wasting the time with driving. But I dislike changing between lines, in particular outdoors in the winter.

Many times, I don’t get a seat on the subway. I have trouble reading on buses because of motion sickness. When I’m driving, I’m in my own space, and can listen to the radio.

I never had a problem with riding the subway, but when it was the only way I'd ever travelled between two points, it left me disoriented. I'd far rather ride a bike than deal with special transit facilities.

Färdtjänst in English is paratransit, right?
I hope I used the right term.
I know a lot of people with ASD who need to take a taxi. They can't take the train.
Most of the people on this forum seem to not really need a taxi.
