Global Warming? Antarctica Has Coldest Winter On Record
Published on October 20, 2021

Quote:
Antarctica has posted its coldest winter since records began in 1957 with average temperatures of -61.1°C. The previous record was -60.6°C in 1976.

According to a shocked Washington Post:

The chill was exceptional, even for the coldest location on the planet.

The average temperature at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station between April and September, a frigid minus -78 degrees (minus -61 Celsius), was the coldest on record, dating back to 1957. This was 4.5 degrees lower than the most recent 30-year average.

The reason WaPo is shocked, obviously, is because according to the alarmist narrative the polar ice caps are supposed to be getting warmer, not colder.

This may be why the authors of the report tried to disguise the bad news by beginning it thus:

Amid a record hot summer in large parts of the Northern Hemisphere, beset by devastating fires, floods and hurricanes, Antarctica was mired in a deep, deep freeze. That’s typically the case during the southernmost continent’s winter months, but 2021 was different.

In other words, WaPo will only permit its readers to learn that the Antarctic has recorded its coldest winter on record once they have first been reassured that the world is getting hotter (and more generally weather-disastrous).

Later the article goes on to tell readers that ‘The planet and Antarctica are still warming.’

But this claim is contradicted by at least three scientific studies suggesting that the Antarctic is on a cooling trend.

The coldest was -128F in 1983 @ Vostok Station.

Hotter, colder, rainier than usual is all is due to global warming.

Generally, yes - the warming itself is not very big but the changes in weather patterns it causes are the concerning thing.
The Earth won't become inhabitable Venus-like furnance. But there are billions of people depending on monsoons that are very likely to shift. Such a shift was likely the reason of end of Indus Valley Civilisation and something similar but on larger scale (and much more people living there!) is likely to happen in our lifetime. Things like that.
No imminent doom. Problems that need adressing.

Take a look at the recent history of the Arctic Icecap. The Arctic Regions are considerably warmer these days than 20 years ago—especially in winter.

Climate Change….even if it’s not all “warming” is happening.

Well, it's good to see this one statistic disproves humanity's impact on climate. 8)

It's pretty obvious, to most objective scientists, that CO2 emissions have caused an acceleration of "climate change," bought about by the activities of humans.

I don't think this is great news. Temperature fluctuation is a sign of flux. Flux is linked to global climate change.

First off, it's the start of Antarctic summer now, which means it's supposed to be the warmest temperatures of the year, which doesn't help when it's still -30*F. Second, it's freaking Antarctica! It's not supposed to be warm; it hadn't been warm since Pangea broke apart. Third, there is no global "warming"; winters in most of Northern Hemisphere got longer and more severe. (And Southern Hemisphere is mostly oceans, not people.) If anything, we have global cooling; I just hope the worst of it happens after I'm dead and my ashes are scattered into a hot volcano.

In my experience many things wobble when they start failing. I think Earth's progressing climate change is causing strange instabilities.

Antarctica might have its coldest winter on record but things are different in Colorado.

Denver will begin the month of December without any snowfall for the first time in history  and there's still no snow in sight for the near future. The previous record for the latest first snowfall in the city was set on Nov. 21, 1934.

We live in interesting times. Unfortunately.

"It is global warming" they say while they lie and "Pretend" to know what they are talking about.
Meanwhile while life carries on the animal charities try to obtain more money by claiming the polar bears and penguines are freezing...
Usual stuff.

It's not quite as a simple as the earth being put into a microwave oven. Modelling suggests uneven changes/flux in weather resulting from a temperature rise.

Australia has been in "climate flux" since the invaders, err, invaded.
How dare we "Flux" Australia!
Australia wasn't "fluxed"before the whites came, and now it is totally fluxed.
Oh, the humanity. 8O <facetiousness>

BTW, This is the land of "droughts and flooding rain", after all. 8)

Quote:
My Country – I love a sunburnt country

The love of field and coppice,
Of green and shaded lanes.
Of ordered woods and gardens
Is running in your veins,
Strong love of grey-blue distance
Brown streams and soft, dim skies
I know but cannot share it,
My love is otherwise.

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of drought and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror –
The wide brown land for me!

A stark white ring-barked forest
All tragic to the moon,
The sapphire-misted mountains,
The hot gold hush of noon.
Green tangle of the brushes,
Where lithe lianas coil,
And orchids deck the tree-tops
And ferns the warm dark soil.

Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When sick at heart, around us
We see the cattle die –
But then the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The steady, soaking rain.

Core of my heart, my country!
Land of the Rainbow Gold,
For flood and fire and famine,
She pays us back threefold –
Over the thirsty paddocks,
Watch, after many days,
The filmy veil of greenness
That thickens as we gaze.
