As some of you already know, my mom loves reading a good crime novel whenever she can get her hands on one.

But what are some great true crime books that you consider the best ever written?

I may buy my mom a true crime book as a Christmas present.

All recommendations will be considered and appreciated!

Thanks! :)

My Dark Places, by James Ellroy.

It's half autobiography by crime fiction author, James Ellroy, part recounting of his mother's murder when he was a boy, how it altered his life forever, and how he and a retired LA police detective tried to solve the cold case.
