I belong to no dating or porn sites, nor do I ever visit any of them (no interest at all), yet I still receive dirty emails inviting me to chat with sexy girls and God knows what else.

I have unsubscribed to a lot of them but I've recently had a new one with 2 different email addresses provided if you want to opt out/unsubscribe, asking you to write to them. Is that a scam too? Do they want you to send a message to those email addresses just to get you subscribed to more porn emails? I do have filters but I don't want my junk mail to be clogged up with this s**t either, because sometimes genuine emails make their way to junk so I still have to search through them.

I know email addresses get passed around but why and how do these disgusting porn sites get hold of them? And why are they always aimed at men? Why not show me a picture of a sexy dude for once?

I'm afraid to say it but you are making a basic error in unsubscribing. By doing this you are telling them that this email address is active. This encourages yet more spam messages.

The best thing to do is not open them (yes, they can tell if the message has been read). Dependant on your email provider there should be the option to report it as spam and block the sender/domain.

Recently I've started getting a few spam messages (mostly financial scams) which I have reported/blocked. For now this seems to have stopped it. Until next time that is....

This has happened to me. I have never & would never subscribe to things or want anything 'dirty' associated with my email address. I carefully untick any boxes that try to subscribe me to anything I do not want.

Trolls often sign you up to things if they have your email address. One of my old email addresses was signed up to about a million different sex websites & endless Trump newsletters, none of which I signed up to.

Oh & viagra spam.

Oh, I didn't think of that. That's a good point.

I just use Gmail. It automatically filters out all of that crap. Email would be unusable otherwise.

Gmail, definitely.

But I get these erection enhancement spam on my phone texts!

I never know whether to block the number or just delete.

I've never received any of these types of emails, and am beginning to feel a bit discriminated against.
