What are my chances... Sigh

Theres a Clerical part-time position open 1 block from where I live at tourist/visitors center of our county... Of course gonna discuss on WP lol!

Pros:
Part-time job, falls within I can make extra money and keep disability benefits
1 block commute, I walk a lot farther than that often
I've done office work before at nature centers
Tourist info, I've lived here on and off for years, familiar with area...

Cons:
I may seem overqualified... They require only an Associates and 1 year experience.
My address... If they look up where I live they'd realize I live in a Senior/disabled complex... Possible discrimination?
50 applicants on Indeed, I mean how many more other places too :(

Sounds like a potentially good situation for you.

Sounds like there's less stress in this job than in most jobs.

In this day and age employers are so desperate to fill openings they won't care if you are overqualified and a flight risk. If you leave they will worry about that then.

You'd be surprised. I applied for a job stacking cans at Walmart after having had a 25 year career in big law firms. They hired me. Three weeks later I was offered a great law firm job and left Walmart. They were very nice about it and happy for me.

Plenty of people get jobs that they are overqualified for

They might or might not call you in for a job interview

They decide if they are going to give you an interview. They decide who to hire

Plenty of jobs have a lot of applicants. If you only applied to jobs with only a few applicants, that drastically and unnecessary limits your job prospects

Everyone has subconscious biases

They might discriminate against you based on age discrimination, but any company could perform likewise
