A Patch of Blue is a great film, one of many.

In the Heat of the Night is a favorite film of mine. I've seen it several times.

I was always fond of "Lilies of the Field" (1963) and "To Sir, With Love" (1967).

One right after another! Could 2022 be a repeat of 2016? 8O

First Betty White, then Peter Bogdanovich, and now Sidney Poitier!

I thought he was great in the little-known film For Love of Ivy. So talented, so handsome...R.I.P.

I was going to add, he had a huge portfolio of masterpieces.

The biggest praise comes from acting giant Denzel Washington who said “Sir, I’ll be chasing you, Sidney. I’ll always be following in your footsteps.”. That's big praise, not mention his oscar.

A curious coincidence is that he died the same day as Peter Bogdanovich who directed what might be his best remembered film "To sir with Love"

A true trailblazer and icon for bringing racial equality to the silver screen. Godspeed good sir.
