Ahmaud Arbrey's killers received life sentences. Travis and Gregory McMichael received life without parole, William "Roddie" Byran received 20 to life.

Feels excessive.

The dad and his son showed little remorse when they were sentenced,
so IMO, they deserve to rot behind bars for the rest of their days!

No surprises there. Here's their "vanity" number plate on their vehicle

I bet they didn't show the least remorse when they killed Arbery either.

So apparently I was mistaken as Byran actually got 30 to life.

Two of them are old men already, one is middle aged, I don't believe any of them had prior records, so I'm not reading these guys as threats to society, more like knuckleheads who did something stupid that got someone killed, and I don't think that justifies making them die in prison. I don't believe in using the justice system for revenge, and this feels more like revenge than justice.

Okay, they're elderly, sure, they've never been in trouble with the law. But a man lost his life, and they took it, chasing him down like an animal. Let the punishment fit the crime.

I don't think this punishment fits this crime, I don't believe in felony murder law, which was used here to charge the people who didn't pull the trigger with murder, and I don't think this was first degree, as it didn't look premeditated. 20 years would have been more than sufficient.

Looked like a lynch mob to me, which is pretty depraved.

Nah, this was a citizen's arrest gone awry, which don't get me wrong, was a stupid idea that racism probably played a part in, but to call it a lynching is hyperbole. What's the rationale for the LWOPs other than vengeance? Why do these guys deserve more than someone who kills a clerk during a stickup?

Maybe not a lynching but I'm fairly sure they would not have responded if Arbery was a pretty blonde jogging around the neighborhood

Who says I'm sympathetic to a robber who shoots a clerk in a holdup?

Probably an excessive sentences for the guy filming at least.
