Usually mid thirties for gay men like me. The gay world is obssessed with youth so aging is a huge issue. I'm in my thirties and I hate aging, hate it. I'm pushing forty kicking and screaming.

I had a 'mid-life crisis' when I was 22.

It was about 6 months after I'd finished university.

I'd spent my teenage years studying hard to get into university. Then I'd spent my university years studying hard.

I finished university and got a job. 6 months later I was thinking ....... is this it? What do I do with the rest of my life?

I think it's because I hadn't developed enough interests outside of my career.

I'm 33 now and very happy with life. I am married with 3 sons. Work 20 hours per week. My passions are belly-dancing and gardening.

25. Prior to that I had been just getting stoned all the time and never planning for the future, but at age 25 I had an epiphany that I wanted more out of life than to just drift along. I decided to get land and settle down in the country, which I did, and have been reasonably happy the last 38 years since then.
I would have hated to wind up with nothing like so many of my peers, who never got any focus or goals to satisfy.

Age 43, when I got my AS dx, giving me an entirely new and coherent perspective for my life experiences thus far.

I'm still working through it.
