Why hasn’t the wrong planet banner been updated since forever? Like why hasn’t the site been updated if people still use it?

Yes, it is dead. The GAD especially.

The only part of the forum that is buzzing with life is the PPR section, because arguing about Trump must be so exciting.

What do you mean by the wrong planet banner? I don't think I've noticed.

The activity here occurs on the forums.

Joe, I think "banner" refers to the site's front page you see when clicking on the little alien logo above.
The content shown there hasn't been updated for ages.

The site is often very quiet indeed, close to 'dead' even, from around 3 am to 9 am UK time. This is about the period during which most members in the USA (who probably comprise the great majority of the membership) will have gone to bed. But actually, I think things are somewhat livelier now in general than they were a year or two ago.

One section which has become a bit disappointing, speaking personally, is 'Computers, Math, Science & Technology'. You sometimes see it go 24 hours without a single new post. There was a time a few years ago when threads about computing accounted for around half the posts in the section, but that seems to have dwindled to more like 10-20 percent of the posts. There used to be a lot more very knowledgeable computing experts taking part, such as Edenthiel. mr_bigmouth_502, Fogman, etc, but I haven't seen posts from any of these for ages.

It seems to be dead throughout UK evenings, which is now. I think I'm one of the most active members on this forum, because I use it on my phone device which I have near me all the time. So even if I have just 5 minutes, I pop on Facebook and WP. At the moment I keep refreshing WP and Facebook but there's nothing new.

I'm just addicted to online socialising.

^ At least 100 posts in the last hour in the 'Off The Wall' section!

I'm not really into that part of the forum. I prefer to discuss things, not do one-worded posts. Highly pointless to me.

This place isn't totally dead, but it's only operating with a skeleton crew. It won't be truly dead until the owner stops paying the hosting fee. If that happens it will go poof as if it never existed. I've seen that happen before.

GAD - dead lately
GTKE - usually it's new members that only write one or two posts then never return
APAMR - sometimes interesting but not lately
NCE - sometimes interesting but not lately
BTSPC - usually about schizophrenia which I know very little about and cannot relate to people with it

RD - one of my favourites but just a load of "last thing you ate" and "what time is it where you are?" threads that serve no purpose for me. I'm here to chat or discuss or vent, not give one-worded posts that won't get read
OTW: FGQR - same as the above
MOD - usually the most interesting section in the whole forum these days

PD - hardly gets visited these days (although I'm not a parent myself I still like to read other people's posts about parenting, as I find it interesting)
L&D - sometimes interesting but not lately
TH - one of my favourites, but is inactive lately
SK&MF - usually interesting, especially when people write about their social experiences
S&CL - very inactive
W&FJ - feel I have to keep describing what the nature of my job is before I can talk about it, otherwise people assume I work in an office
HF&S - I'm not really into sports or fitness

GVG - mostly about Minecraft, hardly ever about the Sims games
TFV - mostly about Star Trek and all that geeky crap that does not interest me in the slightest
AW&M - usually the music posted here is music I am not familiar with or care to get familiar with
CSM&T - very dead, for an autism forum
PPR - only enter at your own risk and don't be surprised if your post gets deleted and you receive a warning from a mod or you offend everyone because you're not as PC as you're strictly supposed to be here

AAI - might as well call it Men's Discussion
WD - inactive lately but sometimes interesting
IDALD - sometimes interesting
AAF - I'm not an adolescent so don't often visit this section
KC - I'm not a kid so don't often visit this section
LGBT - more politically correct than the PPR

WPD - very dead lately, which is why I thought I'd write this post
S - I used to visit this section a lot but not so much these days

ENDF - eh, boring

My guess would be "something." It's not exactly dead, but it doesn't have a healthy pulse.

Perhaps "moribund " would be the appropriate word.

Most of the time, I forget this site even exists. This is actually the first time I've posted here in almost a year. If I want to discuss autism stuff, I usually do it on this Discord server I'm on, or on r/Aspergers on Reddit.

If the majority of users live in North America and you log in during UK evenings, then perhaps that might explain why you perceive WP as "dead." UK evenings are the wee hours of the morning here in North America.

No, not by a longshot. You have it backwards. The UK is 6 hours ahead in the Central Time Zone where I live. So, 7:00 p.m. in the UK would be 1:00 p.m. my time, and 11:00 a.m. on the West coast.
