Both sides use it, Ukrainians for air defence, Russians as repurposed for ground attack.

It has been suggested that it might not be a Ukrainian air defence rocket because of the size of the explosion.
It has also been reported that the Ukrainian ground-to-air system has a self-destruct mechanism designed to avoid the tragedy that happened.

Apparently, Russia has converted that type of rocket from ground to air to ground to ground, but The Ukrainians haven't.

The mystery is yet to be unveiled.

Yes...those people getting killed is a dangerous development.

It's inevitable that the war will spread to a NATO country at some point isn't it...

Personally, I don't think so as a deliberate attack on a Nato member, but accidents and political intrigues do happen.

Looks like we're not having a full-scale WWIII this time.
Which is a good news.

Keep your kookie for the time being.

I never saw this event escalating into WWIII, btw.

Me neither - it looked like a genuine accident, no matter whose the missile was. And no matter whose the missile was, it would not have happened if Russians behaved like a regular state and did not invade their neighbour.

On a different topic:

It was a running joke that in Soviet Union, people are being found "having committed suicide by six shots in the back of their head".
I had no idea that I'd live to see something strikingly similar in the news...

Russia is Planning to Lose More Territory to Ukraine

Russia is no longer contesting the city of Kherson with traditional artillery because they lack the ammunition. They also are preemptively building defense lines far from the current front lines as they are expecting to lose more territory to the Ukrainian military. Republicans have also taken control of the House of Representatives in America and Congress plans to pass a $37 Billion aid package for Ukraine before that change in power takes place on January 3rd.

Jake Broe is predicting a collapse of the Russian economy in 6 months.

Rishi Sunak pledges a further $88 million in defence to Ukraine to combat air strikes as he meets with Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv

Britain's new Prime Minister has answered Ukraine's plea for further aid as vicious missile strikes by Russia have plunged citizens into darkness and no heating while they head into winter.

Well that's something. Liz Truss never even went to Ukraine but Rishi Sunak did.

He is doing well in my book because of this, so far. :thumright:
It may not be obvious, but I am pro-Ukraine.

If it makes you guys feel better my cards predict some good news for Ukraine. :D

Image

Focus Card: 6 of Clubs. A victory parade.

Left Cards: 5 of Spades, gloating over a defeated enemy (which they have every right to do). And 4 of Clubs which is a celebratory victory.

Right Cards: 2 of Hearts meaning a happy union (joining NATO finally?) And a 10 of Hearts ultimately meaning happy and prosperous times in the end.

The 'Alternative' path shows the 8 of Spades which means imprisonment. If they lose then Zelensky would become a political prisoner.

The "Path Best Avoided" is the 4 of Diamonds. If the US government withholds aide to Ukraine then the happy victory won't come true and Ukraine is screwed

Strange, blood-soaked parcels sent to Ukrainian embassies across Europe.

Weird.
A primitive attempt at intimidation? Or some genuine insanity?

‘A very troubling sign for the Russians’: Expert on attacks in Russia

A series of attacks deep inside Russia this week have raised the stakes for Moscow at a time when its war on Ukraine is faltering. Russia has said that Ukrainian drones carried out three strikes on its air bases, yet two of the targets are hundreds of miles inside Russian territory and beyond the reach of Ukraine’s declared drone arsenal. #CNN #News
