He was doing a bit about former lighthearted funny shows coming back or rebooted as serious shows.
He said the 'The Big Bang Theory' coming back as 'I Can't Feel Love'

the aspergers joke was about as funny as a fart in a spacesuit.

During Maher's HBO special 'Adulting' Maher was talking about the sexual allegations made by a woman against Joe Biden that emerged during the campaign that he kissed the back of her head. Quoting the women's blog he said "I felt two hands on my shoulders and froze" then he joked "Ok you're autistic then, that's an autistic person".

Was I offended no, more like surprised because that is exactly how I react when somebody touches my shoulder. Well at least it shows some knowledge of autism beyond the usual stereotypes, unlike the first joke in this thread.

Bill Maher's show should be rebooted and renamed "I can't feel shame."

Maybe we should spend about 10 minutes and think up an Asperger's joke for him that is actually funny. And send it to him with an explanation of why this joke isn't.

Does anyone know if he has ever had an autistic guest on the show?

The audience thought they were funny and that is all that matters to him.
