I got to wondering how many members of this group were older adults? I know, define, "older", right? How about over 50 years old?
I wonder if this is a sort of demographic which the forum keeps track of?
I may have to set up a poll. Thanks for any input!

That's my answer for now. In time, I might want to change it. (I hope.)

When reading older threads, I often get the impression that 10 or more years ago the average age was much lower. This could be for a couple of reasons. One is that this sort of forum has lost favor and only attracts older people who became accustomed to experiencing the web in this manner in the early 2000s. The other is that it seems like the active membership once attracted a higher proportion of people capable of living independently and those people are more likely to seek advice as they start out in life. By now they've settled into a routine i.e. found ways to cope with or compensate for their autism in daily life. The large number of older members may actually discourage younger folks from being active. In general they don't expect older people to understand their needs.

I'm in my early 30s.

I think the age is a mixed bag here really.

Yeah, I know it's surprising when anyone on any website is over 25, especially since people in their late 40s are useless.

It doesn't seem to you as though there were more people your own age on the site back when you first joined?

I'm sort of surprised the population isn't mostly (A) young adults and (B) adults who haven't been young in a very long time. (I'm still young at heart. Really! Just ignore those cardiologists.)

I would think the folk between (A) and (B) should be less interested in online activities and have less time for them.

Also Discord servers, I think. I've seen a lot of ASD related servers and some have a lot of members. Much more than this website. lol
