Putin would be extremely hard to get to, as would an American president.

One million dollars?
That's about worth of... a home in an attractive location.
They could have really tried harder.

The operation itself may cost more than 1 millions dollars.

Millennials everywhere: "So, to finally get on the property ladder, I just have to kill Putin? When can I start?"

(A friend of mine is about to inherit a small house in the middle of nowhere, current worth £500,000.)

That was my thought as well. Maybe it's just a starting amount. Bounties tend to go up as time goes on. I supposed the point is Putin is angering powerful Russians. And I doubt he's the only former KGB among them.

I heard about this a few days ago. It doesn't seem like much of a bounty, but then again, that is in dollars, not rubles. That would probably be a lot of money for a poor Russian wanting to avoid getting hit with the brunt of the inevitable depression in that country. On the other hand, that also isn't the type of individual who would likely be able to get anywhere near Putin, and the ones who are would probably cost a lot more to pay off, so I get the sense this is more of a statement than anything.

I'm wondering if it will get to the point where if a Russian did take out Putin, they wouldn't get convicted for it. Maybe they'd even end up getting a medal. Along with the bounty cash.
