My last job was a very high paid one. A couple of months after I said good bye and I slided straight into early retirement.

I work for a large nonprofit that shall remain nameless, where I mostly do compliance, risk management and policy stuff and strategic business planning. I'm sort of paid to worry a lot and try to solve problems creatively, which is a good fit for me. I've been working from home since the start of the pandemic, which I love, but I am dreading going back to the office someday. Between the normal stresses of being in a corporate environment and my current health issues, it's not something I feel I need right now, for sure.

I'm a corporate lawyer, specializing in finance.

I know in my heart there are plenty of autistic lawyers, especially at the level and in the environment I practice (big firm and midfirm corporate law). The firms are big, profitable and well established, and as a young lawyer you can just get settled into your office and grind the work out. These don't focus so much on personality as long as you work hard, do very good work, and provide relentless commitment to the client and to the firm (who is paying you very well). There are, however, very very very few lawyers who come out as autistic. Google "autistic lawyers" or "attorneys with autism" and you'll see what I mean -- almost no materials.

I'm 62 and won't come out to my firm until I am about to retire. Once in a while I will joke about "my Asperger's".

So glad to meet someone in my profession! Although work conditions are vastly different where i live and i am having massive difficulties at work. It gives me hope to see another lawyer (idk if i can be called that though)

Occasionally some lawyers show up at my support group (which currently meets via text-based chat). One of them was trying to get the the New York Bar Association to create some kind of support service for neurodivergent lawyers, if I remember correctly.

I hope there will eventually be some kind of organization for autistic lawyers, or perhaps for neurodivergent lawyers more generally. (See Autistic Workers Project.)

I do computer programming from home, as part of an independent team consisting of my boyfriend and myself. We don't make nearly as much money as we could if we worked for a major corporation, but the latter is not an option for us, for various reasons.

Hi there! I'm about to be 24. I've had quite a few jobs, but right now I'm a manager at a restaurant and a nanny. I've been at this restaurant for just over a year. I have experience in a few areas, but the most being 6 years in food service.

I work at a grocery store and it has been almost 21 years. I didn't have any ambitions and never knew what I wanted after graduating HS, but I did go to college. But I've been at the same place for a very long time, unfortunately it's not the best job in the world and I sometimes hate it because it minimum wage but I know it's my fault that I didn't get a better-paying job with higher education bc I don't drive. But over all I'm grateful for being employed, especially at this time. I do enjoy learning, education, etc. but I feel like I'm not that smart, or at least not a quick learner. Sorry went off tangent lol.

I currently work at a new job where I am a telemarker type person. Best job of my life as far as how I can follow the script, be pleasant in a controlled environment, and I can avoid getting harassed like I did in the parking lot cart job I had by the teen boy being hateful and bossy or the manager at the fast food job who had gotten out of prison for purposely driving over someone and then started verbally abusing me in the drive through. So having people scream at me all day to quit calling after they gave their consent online to be called by my company...anyways, I think I am going on a bit here... sorry, anyways this newest job aside from the customer who called me the c word and the one who called me the b word and the other one who called me a a-- h---- and the two pervert guys on the phone ... it is all preferably to the fast food job in person type hell. Sorry for rambling. But then I think about the people who are born in a way worse kind of trauma like I recently saw this thing online about, I think it was in Nairobi, and the kids and adults were spending all day on a dump pile and they were so sad and I felt so bad for them and felt guilty about how easy I have had it... anyways, you get what I am saying so please be kind as I think it is my first post... My ideal job would be to be Caroline Ingalls :--)
