Hi:
I want to know what your experiences of kissing was like for those of you who live on the spectrum was like? Did some of you have to prepare for in advance for kissing due to sensory issues?

I've only kissed someone once, when I was in school. It was spontaneous and turned out fine, I guess. If I had to kiss someone now though I still wouldn't really know what to do.

My experiences:

1. When I was 9, my childhood friend and I kissed during big cook-out at my parents' house because we were both experimenting. I wanted to pretend kiss but he wanted to do the real thing which was nice

2. When I kissed that blind date, it was very overwhelming because I didn't like the way his lips felt

3. With my current boyfriend, we took baby steps in which me got me used to being touched while he did things like kiss my hand, or my forehead occasionally along with massaging. Believe me, I was very nervous about kissing him and just enjoyed our time together. Despite that, he pulled me out of my comfort zone one night when he knew I was ready. Because I trusted him, it wasn't overwhelming or scary like the situation with the blind date was.

Kissing didn't come naturally to me.

When I first tongue-kissed a girl, it felt weird.....but I got used to it.

A Puerto Rican girl taught me the "right way" when I was 15.

For anything "sensory" within me, I usually don't do so well the first time----but I compensate and do better and better subsequent times.

First time I kissed a girl I was 22, it felt so weird I did not want to repeat it (especially with the tongue)

Sex was great though, I don’t understand Aspies who don’t like sex.
I am so addicted to it, i can do it 3/4 times a day if my girlfriend allows it.

Hugging is very difficult for me unless i want to hug someone they better not hug me because otherwise I might get pissed off 8O

I really like hugging & being physically affectionate within a serious romantic relationship. That's one of the reasons I hated being single. I'm anti-affectionate with everyone outside the context of a romantic relationship thou. I have no problems with spontaneous physical affection within a romantic relationship but I do not like french kissing. The only person I ever did that with is my current girlfriend. I wanted to try but I do not like the feeling, I have a bit of sensory issues in general. I tolerate giving & reeving pecks on the cheek. Cass sometimes tries to kiss me on other places like my arm to annoy me, she also tries to tickle me sometimes cuz she knows I hate it.

I’ve never kissed a girl but that’s just because I’m an ugly ass incel, it has nothing to do with sensory issues.
