after paying for the shopping in a supermarket the man at the till asked me out i said no im married

my husband was nearby said: why did he have to ask you out for

me:i dont know do i it just happens

husband: it always happens must be you giving them the eye or something

me: i wasnt giving him the eye i was just making eye contact, you got to make eye contact

husband : thought you wouldnt want to make eye contact being autistic

does this annoy anyone else, when they assume just because your autistic it means your going to do all the autistic things? i dont have trouble with eye contact except when having a shutdown

Your husband should trust you more.

I get what you mean, Caz.

But I feel he shouldn't get upset with you. You're not the one who is flirting with the guy.

Well they are probably just asking you out because you're good looking then :D

It's good you remain loyal

i can sympathize with your husbands jealousy, but the way he manifests it is very disrespectful to you.

If it was me, I would be flattered that other men show interest in my wife.

I would hope that I would trust my wife enough to rebuff the advances of these other men.

its not really about trust issues with him he just gets a bit obsessive

he has adhd and bpd and i think he might be on the autism spectrum but he says he isnt

we often bicker but never does any damage to our marriage its just that we are soulmates

anyway this thread is meant to be about the when people assume you will do a certain autistic thing just because your autistic like he says i shouldnt want to make eye contact becuse im autistic

I get what you mean.

Not all autistic folks do autistic things all the time.

I have a friend in NC who was just walking down the sidewalk this weekend, and some guy asks if she wants to go out for a drink. Kind of alarmed, she said, no thanks. And then the guy proceeded to call her ugly and make fun of her shoes.

A lot of men are £^€¥ing *s and it’s like there’s NO sense of civility anymore. People will just come right out and say things. They’ll hit on anything with long hair and wearing a dress, eye contact or not.

It’s not you, it’s the times.

Your husband sounds insecure. My wife has a lot of male friends through work.
