Hi, I'm a 28f from Ireland who was recently diagnosed (My doctor said aspergers but it seems this term isn't used much these days) and ADHD as well.

Myself and everyone close knew something was 'off' about me, but it was put down to being 'mature for my age' ,rude, anxiety, depression and one school official was even concerned I was possibly being abused at home at one point. I know now it was none of those things and I wanted to join a place with some people who know what I'm going through, especially in the workplace. I admit I always thought of autism as the 'boys who love trains' thing for a long time and was surprised at the diagnosis.

I was pushed to find a diagnosis when I had to give up a job I trained for because it was overwhelming me (kids nursing) and I'm now stuck in a sh***y factory job and wondering what to do next in life. Still stuck at home in my old bedroom so things kind of suck. But at least I know now.

I've been lurking a few weeks now and this forum brings back fond memories of the music forums I used to hang round as a teen. Not sure how much I'll use it though. Anyway I'm interested in history, listening to music, gaming, current affairs and travel.

Uhmmm. I like trains but I am not sure if I am on the spectrum or not.

That's deffo the image most people seem to have of it round here anyway.
