I read it as a statement he believes he has a right to procreate with whoever he wants, consent be damned (although respect for current laws, which he surely believes go overboard, will, in fact, stop him). A rape threat; a statement that the women aren't entitled to an opinion on anything.

I'm not sure the internet is too relevant, they existed well before the internet.  The guy who shot up École Polytech was one of those types.  I think we're about to get a rude awakening just like we've faced with white nationalists in recent years.  All of the people who were convinced that the problem was of a smaller scale will have to acknowledge the problem is actually much larger in scale.
The problem is endemic.  While that video is just one instance, the private conversations of men around me reveal similar sentiments that make Incel websites look tame.
I've worked in factories before, I'm more familiar with the way needledicks talk about women than I'd like to be.
Hey!  I leaned a new word today!  Thanks!

I have heard the insult used a lot but not in a while.

Perhaps because the biblical term "a wolf in sheep's clothing" applies. And Jesus' parable of foxtails among the wheat ie imposters.

Why are we even lending credence to this guy?

I never said he should be ignored. I said these sorts of people should be watched surreptitiously, without an overt expression of outrage. It's a waste of time, this outrage at idiots-----we're giving these idiots a platform, partially, through our outrage.

He's being used as the poster child for the pro-life religious right.

To draw any remaining sane people away?
I'd rather see he's a good poster scare for the other side of the conflict.

I mean being used as a poster child by pro-choice. It's typical in political stategey to pick the worst person and put them out in front as if they're the prime example.

Then we agree. And I hate this strategy. It ruins attempts at constructive discussion.

Indeed. And this guy was being blatantly provocative.
