Quote:
Netflix will air a new iteration of its documentary series following people with autism in the dating world, this time focused on a group of individuals on the spectrum in the U.S.

The streaming service is set to premiere “Love on the Spectrum U.S.” later this month.

The six-episode series is a takeoff on the Australian show “Love on the Spectrum,” which debuted on Netflix in 2020 and has two seasons on the service.

“Love on the Spectrum U.S.” will be available on Netflix beginning May 18.

I may actually prefer this to the original. I know how American this is, but this is one situation in which I want to see some happy endings.

Some of my autistic friends called this show disability porn but I loved it. All the characters seemed to have exaggerated versions of my traits. I will be sure to watch this

Having seen all six episodes, I'll just say that the most obvious difference from the Australian version is the lack of LGBTQ+ representation. As I said in my thread in Television, Film, and Video, you can take this as either a spoiler or a warning.

Quote:
It's called “Love on the Spectrum,” and for Emma Hodgson of Wilton, the show is a fun way to let the world know that people with autism are just like everyone else.

Hodgson was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of 4. Because of hard work and the advocacy of her parents, she excelled in high school and college. However, Hodgson says she spent much of her childhood trying to fit in.

A few video clips are included in the linked article.

Wow WAST changed their call letters, back in "my day" they were WAST (I had to Google it but was certain there was no WNYT in the Capital District way back when).

I hate this stupid show. It's so infantalising and treats ASD people like zoo animals. I hate the way I've heard people subsequently discussing ASD and ASD people on the show like we're puppies.
