At one time that wouldn't have been the case. With the exception of Cheney, Kinzinger, and a few others, most have sold their souls to Trump's MAGA movement, which has seemingly become the GOP establishment.

Aren't you horrified that almost half the voting population of Ammuria are deplorables?
There must be something attracting people to support these guys.

I'm talking about elected Republicans, and their activists.

And who votes these "elected Republicans" in? ;)

The same people who had voted Cawthorn in have this time around voted him out, once it was learned what a hateful, brainlessly immature "Ken-doll-brought-to-life" he really is. People can see their mistakes and correct them.

I’ll more than likely be banned for saying this, but the only words that are sympathetic to the extremes of either side is “Sieg Heil!”

I'm not sure why the far left would be sympathetic the words "Sieg Heil?"

Well, for one thing, both the extreme left and the extreme right use dehumanising tactics. 8)

I know which one I would prefer to run into in a dark alley

A pseudo-democracy

we are not a democracy. we only have the trappings of democracy.

You're certainly right there - The United States is currently considered a "Flawed democracy"... And appears to have been on a downward trajectory since at least 2008.

And what was so bad about the Obama years, as compared to those preceding?

But my question pertained to the phrase "Sieg Heil." That's associated exclusively with the far right.

I have no idea, and wasn't passing judgement on them (or any other years, for that matter).

I was referring to the results shown, which has 2006 (the first year of these) and 2008 both showing as 8.22, then slowly decreasing over time to the 7.85 that it received last year.

For reference, given it appears that you hadn't bothered to look at the link before jumping in, in order to try and work out what may have caused the drop:
Quote:
The index is based on 60 indicators grouped in five different categories, measuring pluralism, civil liberties and political culture. In addition to a numeric score and a ranking, the index categorizes each country into one of four regime types: full democracies, flawed democracies, hybrid regimes, and authoritarian regimes.

You would need to look up the reports from those years to compare them and so determine "what was so bad" about them - It could simply be that the studies started at an artificial "high point" (or part-way on a return from one) and so was coincidentally on an inevitable return to the "average" position, for example, with nothing specificaly related to the government of the time causing it.

Antifa has murdered also, but yes, the right extremists kill more people. Both are baddies

The left is a lot better at looting and burning down building blocks, though.
Kudos. :thumright:

No worries... These things happen :)

It would be interesting to find out what caused the drops, though:
2006 - 8.22
2008 - 8.22
2010 - 8.18
2011 - 8.11
2012 - 8.11
2013 - 8.11
2014 - 8.11
2015 - 8.05
2016 - 7.98
2017 - 7.98
2018 - 7.96
2019 - 7.96
2020 - 7.92
2021 - 7.85

These seems to have been a gradual decline shown, with sudden unusual "drops" in 2010-2011 (-0.07), 2014-2015 (-0.06), 2015-2016 (-0.07), 2020-2021 (-0.07).
