He said what I was thinking right up to that point. Then he passed it off as being 75, as if he didn't make the same kind of flubs at 55.

He actually said it twice.

"... and brutal invasion of Iraq. I mean of the Ukraine. Iraq too."

I imagine it takes a great deal of mental stamina to be able to lie consistently and keep a straight face. It looks like he's getting too old for this s**t, and accidentally told the truth for once.

All jokes aside, George W. Bush is a mass-murderer and Muntadhar al-Zaidi (journalist who threw his shoes at W.) deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.

As usual you are on-point, although a nobel peace prize isn't that valuable anymore given the most recent recipients haven't exactly earned a place in heaven.

He actually said it THAT way?

Corrected himself (as you would expect), but then amended his correction by saying "Iraq too"?

I'm curious what Republicans are saying about the Iraq War and Bush Jr. right now.

Really curious.
I can't quickly tell which party the source is in the United States of.

Eventually Americans in general became bitter about what happened in Iraqi, and other Muslim-majority places, but public expression of that sentiment was muted because it seemed unpatriotic to not support our foreign policy. It's too complicated for me to explain in brief but this bitterness played a role in Trump's accession to the presidency. Most Americans hate the Democratic Party but they also don't want a return to Bush/Cheney style endless war. Trump is a safe choice for people who feel that way.

Good question. Its confusing for us Americans too.

Many die hard W.Bush supporters and apologists of a decade ago (including those on this site) are NOW die hard Trump apologists and Trump supporters. And, ironically, one of the excuses they use to support Trump is "that he never got us into a war". That despite the fact that Trump was tirelessly trying get us INTO a war with Iran, and we probably would be at war with Iran right now if he had won the last election.

To capsulize it: the modern Trump dominated GOP is isolationist, and nostalgic for pre Pearl Harbor type foreign policy. Whereas the W era GOP was still quite internationalist.

At least he's accepting the fact that he committed war crimes.

He's a Trump critic just as much as he is a critic of Putin.

He mumbles "Iraq too" but it's clear enough.
