You should have named the topic "Emergence of a Deadly Monkeypox".

AFAIK, it doesn't transmit easily... unless a strain with easier human-to-human transmission has evolved.

Spreading sexually? Or some other way?
Looks like the good old smallpox vaccines help. So we potentially already have the tool at hand.
Well, researches are already on track, we'll see where it leads.
Global world with its ease of travel does make any outbreak potentially pandemic.

The information provided in Cornflake's link suggests maybe we have another outbreak similar to AIDS rather than Covid?

The article says the suspected and confirmed cases are either gay men or bisexual men. Clearly others can get it to, but the history of AIDS outbreaks once suggested something similar.

It won’t be nearly as bad as AIDS.

No more sex with rodents, nor with monkeys!

The smallpox vaccine is used in treating monkeypox.

I believe this will prove to be like “measles with steroids.” It’s a longer-duration illness than measles. The rash is more deep-seated, but doesn’t cause scarring like in smallpox, though it might cause scarring like in chickenpox.

Right now, it's more of a puzzle than a threat - it spreads in ways currently not understood.
As scientists say, more research required.

If you had a smallpox vaccine when a child does it work against this pox?
They are ordering a lot of vaccines for it,

I can't take it anymore, it's just one crisis after another in this world. That's it I'm done. Done with the world, done with life, done with everything. Goodbye, all.
