(apologies for the continued diversion but like Fnord, I have a long professional history in electronics)
Perhaps one day I'll find motivation to set aside my philosophical and religious ramblings and ask y'all for some insight into electronics. I am now the proud owner of Behringer 2600 analog synthesizer. Which is GREAT. But I'm also interested in doing some custom building myself. So far I understand the basics of making my own PCB's. However, I once decided to upgrade the electronics in a Fender Telecaster (MIM model), which should have been a fairly straightforward operation. My soldering is a MESS, and I think I've also got some dirty pots and broken wires. I'm gonna have to have it professionally overhauled at this point. I'd like to think a simple voltage-control sequencer, gate optional, and compatible with the BARP2600 would be a simple and inexpensive project.
