Is anyone else not receiving email notifications?

For the past few days, I haven't received any email notifications from this site at all. Previously there have been times when I haven't received a couple of notifications from a subscribed thread, but now I'm not getting any at all. They're not turning up in my spam folder, either.

Is anyone else having this kind of problem?

I did, a couple of days ago.

My notifications are forwarded to a dedicated personal account here (home) which involves Gmail, an external mail service, then my own mail server to deliver locally. Checking the mail headers shows there was a 3-4 hour delay while mail traversed Google's mailsystems and after half a day of receiving nothing, the alerts slowly started trickling in - which included the backdated alerts showing they were delayed and not lost. Unfortunately I was only able to examine this after the alerts reappeared.
Since then alerts are arriving almost instantaneously as per usual.

I see you're also using Gmail so maybe it's a reoccurrence, affecting your area of the world (at least from Gmail's viewpoint)?

Strangely, emailing my WP mail address (which is what the alert updates would use) from my mobile had some of those delivered quickly, but others were subject to anything from a 15 minute to 1 hour delay.
So it was a time-based event affecting a cluster of mails.

It's been two weeks since I posted this, and in that time I only received about 3 or so notifications (out of dozens, if not hundreds, expected). And only now did I think to switch to a different email address in my WP profile.

In any case this seems to have fixed the problem, and I'm currently getting a steady stream of notifications again. A sight for sore eyes after getting virtually none for weeks on end.

How strange - but ultimately, good.
Receiving no alerts is like having a limb removed.

It seems gmail.com is the common factor here, but I can't see why it should be.
