I had that in the past.
The 12 month salary was paid once a month for 9 months (12/9).
The other three months we got nothing.

It was bloody hell to budget.

That wasn't really my problem, though. The problem was that my pay was $2,000 instead of the usual $3,200+ plus per month because I started in the second half of last school year (even though I was subbing the whole year and doing the same amount of work). My pay is the same amount each month until my new contract starts.

It's complicated.
