While on the topic of changing things, if people used photos of themselves and someone had dramatically changed their hairstyle it might take me a little bit to recognize them.

That does happen to me in-person in real life!

For instance, one time when I was at a friend's house the gal who is the case manager for a home health agency we were each using stopped by. Since my friend had just had surgery and wasn't getting up easily I answered the door. The case manager addressed me by name but I had to look at her for a few moments then ask "You know me, but who are you?"
Ohh that was embarrassing. :lol:

An avatar does affect how people subconsciously perceive you. So it's best you pick whatever you want to represent you.

In my online course there's a guy I've never met who uses a cat character avatar. In my head that's what he looks like.
