Not surprised.

People keep saying he's trying to recreate the Soviet Union, but Putin is not a communist, and "United Russia" is merely a pro-Putin front with no clear ideology.

Ever since the takeover of Crimea in '14, I have always maintained Putin is trying to recreate the Russian Empire rather than the USSR.

Russia is a declining power I don't think Putin will want to take on Nato. I think he is just testing the waters with these statements to see how the West reacts. Everything so far in my mind is him seeing what he can get away with bit by bit.
