I am so sorry. I didn't even think of it that way. I just wanted to give you as much information as possible. Really. I was blindsided when you mentioned it because I try to follow the rules and hate making mistakes. I searched the forums and saw a nursing student ask, and a moderator gave them directions to post here in the moderator attention thread. They asked some questions of that researcher, and I thought I would try to include the answers in my post here. It was not my intention to try to solicit through this thread. I do apologize. This whole recruitment thing is hard, and I am frankly on the verge of giving up. I don't have the social skills for it.

I also appreciate the feedback on the methods. I have chosen to interview based on my initial research and the proposal I submitted to my committee and the Institutional Review Board. Surveys tend to be restrictive, and we lose the voice of the people participating. I spent months going back and forth on this, so I do appreciate your concern and hold some reservations. I only say 60-90 minutes because I need to cover the consent information and I don't want people blocking too little time. It may be shorter. I am using Zoom because it allows me to interview people in many parts of the country and I have free access to it. I am funding this out of pocket. Zoom also transcribes for free. I have options to turn off the camera (after a quick check that the person is real--I have already been catfished once). Participants can also use the chat function in Zoom instead of speaking. I tried to get approval for text only and was not approved. I would prefer to record to make sure I capture the words people are using, but once the transcripts are made and I de-identify the data, the recordings are deleted. I do have strict protocols in my research information sheet that I provide after screening and before the interview. Participant confidentiality is essential.

I will spend some time reworking my information to cover some of these concerns and I will PM you when I post. Thank you again for being kind about my mistake.

Thank you for the additional explanations - these have helped clarify your methodology and I understand how your desire to provide as much information as possible up-front resulted in the earlier request for participants.

I hope the reworking is less problematic than you thought and your research is up and running soon; I look forward to your PM.

The thread definitely belongs to PPR.
Moved there.

Thanks - the thread was going too far with denigration and accusations; it's now locked.

I haven't seen one of those users here in a while. Gate keeping autism, being all superior about it. Ugh. I'm so glad I learned to ignore them. We used to have more of them here.

Check out these exceptionally sneaky bot spammers:

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=152527
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=147296
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=147832 (this one hasn't spammed... yet, but looks bottish to me)

It's subtle, but all of what they do post is simple and generic, based on keywords in the thread topic. Sometimes they start threads - which brings all the bots to the yard. I don't know if they are coordinated, or just attracted to the same threads through keywords/using identical software.

They payoff is very occasional spam - but get this, even the spam is subtle:

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=408315&p=9154474#p9154474
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=407150&p=9134654#p9134654
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=339236&p=9020930#p9020930
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=408428&p=9130082#p9130082
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=404543&p=9163870#p9163883
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=359683&p=9163879#p9163879

These links are traffic funnels or adverts masquerading as articles and clickbait lists and the last two simply seem to be trying to drive traffic to a consumer complaint site. All of it might pass muster on first inspection.
