Thursday morning, FBI agents and police officers swarmed the House of Prayer Church in the 2500 block of Airport Road.

In Richmond County, FBI agents also executed a search warrant at Assembly of Prayer.  The church is located on Old Tobacco Road in Hephzibah.

The two raids are connected, though details are limited.

But, wait!  There is . . .

More on the Cult That Bought Nelly’s Crumbling Mansion

Neighbors of the Kingdom of God Global Church, an organization many accuse of being cult, say that strange occurrences around church-owned properties in West County have left them confused and at times even frightened.

People were walking around the residence on Wildhorse Meadow Drive at night with suits on and sunglasses.  There was a guy that would sit at the side door of the house in a chair with sunglasses on, guarding that side door.

They tried to assert these were simple Bible studies, but the scope of what was going on there was much greater than simple Bible studies -- children being led out of that house.  They are all holding hands in a long line, and being loaded into a van.  That is unusual in the middle of a subdivision, and it alarms people.

So, is this conservative "Christian" church a case for "X-Files" or is it a case of pedophiles?

I guess that this might have something to do with the raids then?

Apparently the cult believes it is on a divine mission from God to defraud the military itself and individual military veterans,

"
Veterans Education Success helps former service members find opportunities to further their education.

In the fall of 2020, the organization compiled a report of wrongdoings of the House of Prayer church and sent a letter to Veterans Affairs.

The report says the House of Prayer committed fraud by taking funding from the GI Bills of veterans and not providing a proper education in return.

“So, in this particular case, students came to us and identified that they’ve been having some challenges and hearing some things that they weren’t quite comfortable with, that the school was doing. So, they reported that to us,” said Will Hubbard with Veterans Education Success.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs GI Bill Comparison tool, the House of Prayer Bible Seminary has 55 GI Bill students. In a tweet today, Veterans Education Success renewed their call to have the House of Prayer removed from the VA’s website.

They are in good company. The former POTUS spun QAnon stories and hasn't paid back a single cent of the $250 million he pocketed from donations.

Brian Kemp is complicit.

He didn't shut down these churches.
He is a theocrat.
He's not Gavin Newsom.
He's not Kathy Hochul.
He's not J.B. Pritzker....

No speculation involved.  I asked a question.  Let people draw their own conclusions.

A controlling religious group that sucks the pocketbooks of church members dry. About time law enforcement steps in and cracks down on more of these charlatans.

But it's ok for politicians to use lies to defraud their supporters?

Of course not. I wish the police would crack down on corrupt politicians, too, if possible.

FBI enters Tacoma, Washington church amid raids at other campuses.

And the hits just keep on coming . . .

The FBI’s Seattle field office confirmed agents conducted “court-authorized law enforcement activity” at the church’s Tacoma location on South 54th Street but declined to provide additional details.

Former and current members allege the House of Prayer drains veterans’ GI Bill funds by perpetually enrolling them in seminary programs and pressures them to gain 100% disability through the VA with false information then donate their benefits

The members also accused the House of Prayer of using their personal information and forging signatures to apply for home loans, the report from Veterans Education Success shows. Some reported multiple properties were purchased without their knowledge.

Former members say the church is centered around the personality of founder Rony Denis and allege House of Prayer leaders harass and retaliate against those who speak out against the church.

I am reminded that my own Lutheran faith came into being specifically to counter a religious money making scam, otherwise known as the indulgence trade. So I tend to look disfavorably on the misuse of faith and religion to scam people out of money.

This came back to mind,
"
Religion and faith can be beautiful things, and they can be brutal. Religious freedom is rightly valued in democratic societies, but the ways in which religious culture can foster the abuse and exploitation of individuals are real. At their core, the mainstream religions share the same beliefs: be kind, be good, and love your neighbor. But these beliefs must be practiced in community, and in communities power is often appropriated and misused by leaders.

If psychology has taught us anything, it is that influential people can shape how people view and think of themselves, of others, and of the wider world in which they live. Religious leaders have the choice of imparting values and behaviors that are true to their teachings, or translating those messages in ways that heighten their own sense of power and importance and provide a cover for abuse.
"

Why does religion turn from beauty into beast?
Trauma and abuse are common in faiths supposedly built on love. What's going on?
