It seems like, this time in Biden's case, the "rebound" is asymptomatic.

He's out of the woods with covid, but his cognition remains an issue.

I don’t see cognitive problems.

I don’t have cognitive problems, and I’ve been known to speak like Biden just did.

It's amazing how quickly all those epidemiologists have retrained as dementia care specialists. :P

Are you sure of that? Many autistics have cognition issues. I know I do. And there's a lot of jobs I can't perform well or at all because of it.

I'll be more precise: I don't see cognitive issues out of the norm for him (the long running king of gaffes) or that would impair his ability to do his job.

So you think he's sharp as a tack?

Basing one’s opinion on personal observation is not ideal. I would need tp see the results of neuropsychological testing that has been conducted by a professional in the field.

Hasn't Biden refused to undergo such testing?

Could you provide a source for that?

If he has refused, it doesn’t change the fact that you can’t diagnose people without actual testing.

He’s sharper than he seems to be.

He has a well-known speech condition which might affect how he articulates words consummately (he slurs his words slightly). It might give the impression that he is affected in a cognitive way.

I don’t have reduced cognition. My autism manifests in more a social than a cognitive sense.

The “Uncle Joe” thing, and allegations of cognitive decline, tend to be alluded to by conservative Republicans—especially those who like Trump.

There have been occasions when people thought that I was “slow” because I’m so shy and have such bad social anxiety that I tend to stutter over words and struggle with forming coherent sentences when I’m talking in front of (or to) other people. It sucks.

Washington (CNN) During an interview set to air Thursday, former Vice President Joe Biden said that he had not taken a cognitive test and attacked the question as unfair, likening it to being asked if he was a "junkie."

"No, I haven't taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?

No, but like my aunt who developed dementia, you can see the signs of it happening and be concerned about it. In other words, we were able to determine that she was losing her cognition before she was officially diagnosed. Signs and symptoms.

Personal experience (anecdotal evidence) does not make one an expert on the subject or are they giving out honorary PhDs for that now?

It seems to me there are those who refuse to acknowledge that a 79 year old man, who's had brain surgeries, could easily have declining cognition, because that would put them in agreement with those who don't hold their political views.
