Trump urged Wisconsin Assembly speaker in July to decertify Biden 2020 election win

Quote:
Former President Donald Trump this month called Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and urged him to decertify President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win in that state, Vos said in a new interview Tuesday.

“It’s very consistent. He makes his case, which I respect,” Vos told WISN-TV 12 News in Milwaukee.

“He would like us to do something different in Wisconsin. I explained that it’s not allowed under the Constitution,” Vos said.

“He has a different opinion.”

The Republican lawmaker said in the same interview that Trump on July 9 posted a message on Truth Social, his social media platform, calling on the Wisconsin legislature to “turn over the election to the actual winner,” by recalling the state’s slate of 10 Electoral College delegates, who cast their votes for Biden.

Decertify Biden's 2020 victory, says Wisconsin Assembly election committee leader

Support in Wisconsin's State Assembly for decertifying President Joe Biden's 2020 win in the state is growing more than 20 months after the contest.

Election committee leader Janel Brandtjen, a Republican endorsed by former President Donald Trump, released a statement on Friday prompting a rebuke from the legislator's counterpart in the state Senate.

“Fair and honest elections are the cornerstone of our democracy and we know that the 2020 presidential election was neither fair, nor transparent,” Brandtjen said in a news release posted on Facebook. "Tyranny is at Wisconsin’s door."

Brandtjen said she would join fellow state Rep. Tim Ramthun, a Republican candidate for governor, in pushing to overturn the last presidential election and dismissed the naysayers. "We have been told for months now that decertification is impossible, meaning there is no downside to cheating in Wisconsin elections," Brandtjen said. "How many more times do we need to endure this election injustice?"

Biden defeated Trump by nearly 21,000 votes in Wisconsin in 2020, a result that has been upheld by recounts and court rulings that have rejected assertions of widespread fraud. However the state remains an active battleground for questioning the results and election practices during that contest.

PolitiFact - GOP lawmaker’s proposal to decertify Arizona election won’t change anything about 2020
Quote:
Arizona State Rep. Mark Finchem, a secretary of state candidate, wants to decertify the 2020 election. The process to certify the presidential election was completed more than a year ago. His primary election is August 2.

Former President Donald Trump and his allies have cheered a resolution by a Republican Arizona state lawmaker to decertify

Rick Hasen, an election law professor at University of California, Irvine, called Finchem’s argument"nonsense.""This argument is not legally sound," Hasen said."The Arizona legislature had the right under Article 2 of the Constitution to set the manner for choosing presidential electors. It gave that right to Arizona’s voters, with no power to ‘decertify’ the results afterwards — whatever that means."

As noted this will not succeed, but this is really not about 2020, but about current and future elections.

They make themselves the ones to watch closely in future elections for fraudulent behavior. They will stop at nothing to get ahead.

Absolutely bonkers. But then these are people who think dead Kennedys (and not even the good ones!) are going to rise from the grave and make Trump president.
