How many of the people that you dated have you met from one of the locales on the “worst place” list?

I met everyone I’ve dated in one of those locations. I’ve only dated 3ish people, though, but they were all mistakes. I met two of them at cult gatherings and the third is just too embarrassing to say.

It's not for "want of trying," though :wink:

I was pretty naive in my immediate post-high school years. I'm lucky something really nasty didn't happen to me.

In some of those locations, it’s pretty easy to find someone, but it’s probably not going to be worth the trade off.

For instance, in a cult that does not believe in sex before marriage or masturbation and strongly discourages people from dating outside of the group, everyone is super eager to find someone when they are 18 to their early 20’s, but it’s far from an ideal situation. Sexual desperation is not a great basis for a relationship.

What kind are you looking for? :wink:

There are a wide variety of Christian cults, New Age cults, and political cults just to name a few big categories. Some people refer to cults as high control groups because cults don't have to be religious; it's more about control.
