Thank you Kraftie…… am able to work on projects occasionally…but the advantage , is that I get to work at my own pace . Most often ….And it helps in self confidence for me . To know I can do things or at least still willing to try. .
Last few years have had to wind down . Age and disability has a way of catching up to you , I think.
And it can keep the mind occupied .

I'm nostalgic about the 1940s and wartime stuff.

Each of us are likely old fashioned in some limited ways and more contemporary in others. As much as we might be prone towards black and white thinking, it's not black and white.

I guess you could say I am nostalgic because I wish it was 1990 instead of 2022.I loved the 90's.

Ya in some respects.I remember before 2000 we thought the future would better than the 90's but it turned out to be the opposite for me and a lot of people.I remember being so optimistic about the 21st century during the 90's that is if Y2k didnt get us first.I also miss the feel of the 80's because there was still a bit of a 80's atmosphere when I was really little.However things are much better now in my area in some ways than they were in the 90's.

The 90s turned out to be a very cool decade. We had Beavis and Butthead, New Kids on the Block, Mad TV, Wayne's World and Austin Powers. There are days that I wish it was 1997 again. That was probably the best year of my life. There was a Mod Mod Mod revival, Austin Powers was on the big screen and television was actually good that year.

I do remember being optimistic about the 21st century, it seemed to be the space age, great things were going to happen! But instead we seem to be going into Mad Max/Waterworld territory All the dystopian sci fi series seem to be coming true instead of the optimistic ones...

I was called a brave soldier. I feel honoured.

That title might belong to me.

I also remember being excited about the 21st Century. I thought there were going to be flying cars and geodesic domes all over the place. I thought that we were going to have all this great technology. I thought that I was going to be able to reach into a wall for a meal or a Slurpee.

I'd never thought I'd have my own laptop and Internet. I'm working class and unemployed and I have a laptop and I can afford Internet every month. I never thought that I would still be watching Hogan's Heroes now, when I was 12. I certainly never thought that I would be sitting in front of a screen communicating to all of you and I never thought that things would ever get better for the LGBTQ community.

An old fashioned thing I'd like to bring back is rules for friendship and courting. I like the idea of how to show you are interested in someone as a friend or lover.

Like in the 19th century if you wanted to be friends with someone you'd go and visit them, and if they weren't there, you'd leave your calling card.

With the romance side of it, I think it would be better if men and women could both be the chasers and the chased (i.e. the men didn't always make the choice while the women waited to be chosen, they could both do both). And there were rules for what to do e.g. the first sign could be promenading in the park together, or something.

There aren't enough social rules for me these days and I'm left floating in the ether, mystified.

We all thought we were gonna be commuting to work in flying cars like the Jetsons. And colonizing Mars, and curing cancer.

We dont have any of that,but...we have access to all of the internet porn we could ever hope for!
