It's a well known fact that most people who see UFOs never report them. Anonymity in this instance is understandable as you could potentially back a laughing stock at best or lose your job as your boss thinks you are a nutcase at worst.


If many people see the same thing, as should’ve been the case if this were real, that’s less likely.


When you see something independently you may not want to be the one who sticks your neck out. It's called the bystander effect


Many people would’ve seen it. People would’ve talked about it. The bystander effect involves not intervening during crimes or accidents, so it’s not applicable here.

It also means waiting for somebody else to say something because you don't want to look crazy by asking anyone else if they saw it.

Until it’s been proven to be a real, undoctored image of something unusual, which won’t happen, the logical stance to take is disbelief.

It’s not even that convincing IMO.

The reality is that governments classify lots of information that they are given. It doesn’t mean that that information is automatically worthwhile or valid.

The MOD along with other government departments is obsessed with secrecy.

The 30 Year Rule is nothing unusual or super-duper secret in this context:

(A part-time pedant notes: why are embargoes, like injunctions, always "slapped"? Can they not be placed, imposed, applied, granted, made, and so on? Lazy onomatopoeic journalistic phrases leaking into common use. :x )

I think the writer used manipulative wording to heighten the common appeal of the article and to attract readers, at the loss of integrity. Sensationalism sells.

Analyse what - one poor quality jpeg against another, where each is already showing very obvious differences in the content alone?

A source in the MoD allege once Britain's intelligence chiefs realised the Calvine photographs showed a top secret US project they were immediately classified secret — UK Eyes Only.
