Some women look better (to me) with makeup, and some look better without.  Mrs. Fnord is more of the latter -- she does not need makeup, but I do not object when she wears it.  Maybe I am weird that way, or maybe I am in love.

I feel like if a woman puts on too much makeup, her face sort of dries up, so that they look worse without makeup than they would have if they didn't put on makeup.

A young guy I used to work with wore different color nail polish on each finger.

Is that some ...younger generation thing?

I grew up in an area where a lot of the men were coal miners. They always looked as though they had eyeliner on because of the soot. I was only young back then but I can remember thinking how good it looked.

My ex is 68.
He likes to do one finger differently.
He uses bright colours and puts a layer of glitter over top.

He has long pinky finger nails because he plays Spanish guitar. (Somehow that helps?)

It probably helps to have long pinky nails when you're picking a guitar.

It doesn't help too much if you're typing, though.

For Spanish guitar, you wear long fingernails in your right hand and short in your left hand. Layers of high quality nail polish help harden the long nails.

My teacher wore pearl polish, I remember. He was around 50-60 when I was a teen, so he definitely wasn't a "younger generation".

I don't wear makeup nor nail polish. I just find it unnecessary bother.

That sounds right. ^ I think it's just one pinky finger, the more I think about it.

There is an urban legend that says dynastic Chinese rulers kept their pinky fingernails long for "personal grooming".

Agreed, you summed up my thoughts best.

Some women look better with make-up, others... not so much.

I don't suit it. I think my facial structure is wrong for it.

It depends on what type of woman you are. If you like to wear makeup, do so. If not than don't. I like both equally.
