I can say with some certainty what wouldn’t lurk in the mind of a loving divinity. I’m not one to belittle the power of human reason.
I was confused as to why you said that things have gotten better since medieval times. In the context of the conversation, I was expecting since Jesus’ day.

That's true.....I was thinking of something else when I thought of medieval days. I was thinking that he might "come back" during harrowing medieval times----much more harrowing than even in Jesus' day.
Or maybe I'm just tired...I don't know.
Of course, you did say "Jesus' Day." You got me there!

However....when I fall down, I get right back up!
I’m tired, too. I think I’m getting a cold.

Will Jesus ever return? It has been more than 2000 years and he still has not returned to Earth. He appears to be long overdue.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Supposedly, even Jesus doesn't know when he's supposed to return. You'd think the way the entire world has gone to crap even religious people would be wandering around wondering why he hasn't "returned" yet.
Anyway, I know I'd be going to hell for sure if he did even though I've never started a world war, practiced cannibalism or killed anyone (to my knowledge, anyway). But the way the world is now, why should I even fear hell?
