Been announced here that she is very unwell, which is not something Buckingham Palace would usually put out. Royal family all travelling to Balmoral. BBC have stopped their schedule on 1 with news commentary. HoC interrupted to announce the statement

Operation London Bridge starting?

Could be Prince Philip's death took a heavy toll on her. I've hoped she makes makes it to 101 like her mother did.

God save the Queen.

I love and respect the queen but if she dies will airports all be shut? I'm due to fly abroad on Monday and I get anxious if big arrangements like that are cancelled at the last minute. Also will my passport suddenly be invalid?

Why would your passport be invalid if the Queen dies?

It's valid until the date of expiry.

I don't believe the Queen's death would affect your travel plans.

Here are some details of things that will happen once the Queen dies.

All of Queen Elizabeth's children now at her side, report says

Quote:
All of Queen Elizabeth's four children including daughter Princess Anne and youngest son Prince Edward are now at Balmoral Castle in Scotland with the British monarch, ITV reported on Thursday, following news of the queen's ill health.

CNN
Quote:
In a rare statement on the Queen's health, Buckingham Palace said Thursday the monarch was advised to remain under medical supervision because of the doctors' concerns.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral (Castle)," the statement added.
The announcement came just hours after Buckingham Palace announced the Queen, 96, had postponed a virtual meeting of her Privy Council on Wednesday after being advised by doctors to rest.

The monarch was scheduled to attend the gathering after formally appointing Liz Truss as the new UK Prime Minister. Truss is the 15th prime minister appointed by the Queen during her 70-year reign.

On Twitter we think she's passed away already as all her family are rushing to her bedside, including Harry. BBC1 has cancelled all programmes for the rest of the day. All the reporters and others are wearing black.

I think an announcement is imminent.

I will be very sad if the queen passes away though, because I do love the queen. So I'm not being selfish or anything for worrying about my plans (not saying anyone here has implied that but just in case anyone is thinking it). But you can feel two different emotions at the same time; one emotion is feeling sad for her majesty and all her family, the other emotion is worrying about what will change.

I just read that passports and money won't suddenly become invalid the moment the queen dies. So I can mourn without anxiety.

It also teaches us a lesson that no matter how rich you are you're still going to die.

Yes, I'm not a particular fan of the royal family, but the Queen has been a constant in my life, I've never known another monarch. I am even more scared for the future of Britain as yet another constant thing is suddenly gone.

And she's a 96 year old lady. People online (not WP) laughing and being rude, are just out of order.

Please, not more change. The country is already in about 3 different crises, we don't need more.

The covid crisis seems to have launched crisis after crisis.

Queen Elizabeth wouldn't want change, either :)

She probably wants to live to at least 100.

When Queen Elizabeth II dies, Charles will become king immediately.

No one can stop a person dying, this is a change we can't avoid. If/when the Queen dies, we'll have a King next.

The Queen and I share the same birthday. April 21. Or 21 April as they write it.

King Charles III.

I'm a bit of an anglophile.
