If he starts putting his "alternative medicine" in the NHS as a cost cutting measure, it could create two classes. One class who receives actual medicine (the king would be included in this class) and one class that primarily recieves woo-woo fake medicine.

You're right, I don't want that! I want alternative medicine like it is now, as a choice that isn't in the NHS.

There will be two classes anyway though- people who can afford private medicine, and people who can't.

That is certainly true. But I still think the lower class getting a cheaper version of real medicine is preferable to the lower class getting fake medicine.

I don't think it would ever happen - there's no evidence it works any better than placebos, and AFAIK no blind trials to test its efficacy, let alone any demonstrating it works.

Whenever I hear "alternative medicine" I'm reminded of "Storm", by Tim Minchin. IMO he gets it spot on (with a warning for language) -

What would be best is if the UK government didn't move us over to the private healthcare of the USA, but instead improved and developed the NHS. But I don't see much hope for that.

Did anyone else see this? Ouch! People heckling King Charles. I can't disagree.

He's been King for less than a month and he's already being heckled.

I doubt it's personal, it's part of the cost of wearing that fancy metal hat. If he can't stand it he's free to become a private citizen who isn't king.

Ideally the entire institution will be abandoned, leaving Chuckles and the whole lot of them as regular plebs.

Exactly - this shipping bodies all over the place is so unnecessary.

There's also this pointless little jaunt: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... -australia

Oh yes, they are always taking private jets everywhere aren't they :x

For a joke we looked into what it would cost for my daughter to fly from California to Arkansas and the cost was $86,000. 8O

Become a servant and then you'll see everything.

I was actually offered such a job working at the estate of one of the richest people in the world. I said thanks but no thanks.

I tried being a butler once. Apparently saying "get it yourself" isn't acceptable.

Interesting to know the late Prince Phillip was a patron of Buddhist literature.

Carolean. Or pedantically, the Third Carolean Era.
Interesting. Do you know the word derivation for that? Elizabethan is pretty obvious, not so Carolean.
Early 17th century: from medieval Latin Carolus "Charles".

Apart from Carolean, I thought of a better one: Charlibethan.
Its unlikely to catch on though.
