Some boy bands and girl groups are well known and some fade into obscurity. Why is that?

Some have creative talent and some do not.

Likely lack of creative talent, adaptability, or both. Many also age out of the “Boy/Girl Band” stage - their youth is their major selling point, and they cannot stay young forever. Still others may move on to college and/or professional careers.
