I was always touching bugs and worms and other germy things as a kid, which is probably why I don't have about ten different allergies or get sick a lot. :)

There is no option for: carefully reach out a finger and stroke the fly. We used to do this in Madagascar where the huge flies were very plentiful but slow. When you order a drink at a restaurant, it comes with the coaster on top to keep the flies out!

I remember that one. I remember a lot of things from Sesame Street.

Said the waiter "dont shout.

Or wave it about.

Or the rest will all want one too!"

I hate when floating debris lands in my water cup and I'll dump it, rinse it out, and re-fill it, but honestly depending on what the food is, I often remove the spot it was on rather than throwing the whole thing out. Especially if it's something relatively expensive or time consuming to make.

I just shoo the fly away and still eat the food. I'm sure a lot of things go in my mouth on a daily basis that may or may not have been touched by a fly before. Flies also clean themselves a lot, so I'm not too bothered by them in a hygiene sense. My stomach acid also should take care of anything I might need to worry about.

I didn't know the clean themselves. Wow

Flies near whatever I eat are so annoying, but it's something we have to live with obviously.

I was at a pizza joint earlier for lunch and a fly was always near my food.
I just ignored it and ate my lunch as quickly as possible.

a fly got in my house (a big, fat, slow one). I was looking in the fridge and spotted it hovering over me. I frantically waved it away for the inside and closed the door. then i saw it in the living room, then....it was gone. people, i've been so anxious about that fly all day. it ruined my day (i can laugh about it now). I think my ocd is flaring up because i'm getting more and more repulsed by even the sight of flies. moths repulse me in a different way like sensory overload and just their appearance makes me shutter. i guess the fly was dying because it was so slow and i never heard it buzzing. sleeping with earplugs and covering my mouth (hope it doesn't go up my nose

either throw it all or the landed part. the landed part is a logical answer, but all is what I might actually do if I feel that the food was "corrupted"
