He had to go all the way to DC to vandalize a national monument that is hundreds of years old. It was the tallest building in the world for a time and still holds the titles of worlds tallest obelisk, worlds tallest predominantly stone structure, and worlds tallest monumental collum. It is also the tallest building in DC.
Apparently this red paint has seeped into the white stone...
