Hello everyone,

When you're with your partner (or even hypothetically l speaking) do you wanna look good for them or do you just dress to please yourself?

Does it make you feel good to look good for your partner?

When I was a teen until about my early 20's then yes. Then I had my son and honestly I didn't care as much then. Fast forward to this year, then its back to yes.

Yeah me too. I've heard people say that you should dress for yourself. If I followed that rule then I'd always be wearing baggy shorts and t-shirts.

It makes me feel good to look good for my man. I get a kick out of it.

I enjoy making reasonable accommodations to my partner's desires, regarding my appearance. This is easy for me, given that I care little about my appearance, otherwise. Molding me into something desired is not likely to bring much resistance from me.

I could barely keep my hands off him.

No, I dress in a way that makes me feel confident and wear things that look nice to me. Some of my going out looks are influenced by the band's I'm obsessed with - trendy looks.

I once turned up on a date in a Morrissey t shirt. I definitely wasn't dressing up for my date.

I read some posts here not long ago, saying something along the lines that women dress up and wear makeup etc for other women. That made me laugh because I cannot relate. I agree that women checkout other women (I checkout any gender if I they stand out to me, and I often get stared at by women), but dressing up and looking good for them (especially if you're not trying to attract them because you're attracted to women) is bizarre to me.

Anyway....I definitely dress to please myself!

I should add that band tshirts and distressed jeans wow him too. ^
That's what he likes about my style.

It's not about wearing anything uncomfortable, or out of my style.

At his house I mostly wear pyjamas.
On most of our "dates" I wear jeans and we walk the dogs.
He likes the fact that I'm comfortable in my own skin.

It was fun to dress up yesterday though.

^ The band t shirt and jeans look is effortlessly sexy.

Dressing up is fun.... especially if it's costume like Victorian style outfits! I recall a stunning dress you posted once in the 'what are you wearing' thread....things like that are jaw dropping and fun.

I don’t see anything wrong with wanting to look good. Whether it’s for myself, or others

I wish I looked good 100% of the time.

It was his big brother's wedding and he was Best Man.
I wasn't in the wedding party so I got to stare at him a lot. :P

He was really emotional in his speech, since he's bereaved.
I was so proud of him.
It was a really big day for us, for a lot of reasons.

I got a swanky up-do which was fun.
Slow dancing was amazing.
I should likely stop now before I say too much lol

BTW The bride -- holy cow -- talk about jaw-dropping.

I hate going to weddings.

Sometimes, people give good speeches, though.

I always think my partner looks good & she usually thinks I look good as well even if we're just hanging out at home & wearing old torn stained cloths. There's no reason for us to dress nice for each other since we love staring at each other when we look our worst.

What matters most is that I look good to them when I am not wearing anything. lol
