What would happen if the FBI established a police station in China?

This 10 min video gives a good rundown on what it's all about.

Basically these stations are targeting Chinese citizens living abroad. Like just because they're not in China, that doesn't mean they can escape the scrutiny of Chinese law enforcement.

They already have, in Beijing no less: https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/internat ... jing-china

"Today, the Bureau has special agents and support professionals in more than 80 overseas offices, pursuing terrorist, intelligence, and criminal threats with international dimensions in every part of the world."

So fearing a totalitarian government sticking its hands in the affairs of other nations around the world is now xenophobia?

Ok Tankie.

That's not what's happening. The Chinese government is sticking its hands in the affairs of citizens of China who are in other nations.

If folks want to get upset about this, that's what they should be upset about, how China is dealing with its own people when they are abroad.

This is one of the ways a nation's private property policies can come back to bite. China is buying property and opening businesses right under our noses. Like a quiet takeover. And its all legal under the laws of the targeted countries.

They may not be opening policing type stations in the US - yet - but they have bought one heck of a lot of our land and economic machinery. We have no laws that stop them.

We should. Have laws that restrict who can buy property and operate a business within our borders. And most definitely who can monitor people traveling within our borders.

China has an agency in New York where the real estate issue is probably the worst.
