They want to legalize psychedelic therapy, but also decriminalize people possessing shrooms outside of theraputic use. It won't quite make it so there are dispensaries selling shrooms like weed but it is a start. Lol how about acid next.

I believe mushrooms of that type are already legal in Oregon.
People should make their own decisions about naturally occurring substances.
But I don’t know about the manufactured ones - I would do some research before voting on that.

Sure but this also seems to decriminalize things like people growing their own, so it would be safer legally for people to do so. So I think it would help with people making their own decision about it without fear of it being illegal.

That's good but I hope it's backed up with a decent program of education about the way psilocibyn works on the brain.

All the issues I've heard about from mushrooms come from situations where people just don't know what they're doing, think it's some sort of party drug or mild intoxicant like weed, or take hero doses because they're trying to impress someone.

The risk is you get a bunch of kids going nuts with it, a few high-profile news stories of things going wrong and you're right back to people being scared and prohibition.

I bet Texas will be the last to legalize, if it ever does.

I wouldn't have done shrooms if they had been 100% legal and free my whole life. I've always considered mind altering drugs a bad idea.

They're not fully legal here yet, but we do have multiple dispensaries selling mushrooms & the main one is run by Dana Larson who ran a medical marijuana dispensary for yeeeeears before legalization. His dispensary also sells cocoa tea, kratom, peyote, san pedro, shroom kits.. and one of the google image pics I saw before said lsd and dmt one it, but I don't see that sign now so maybe not ?? Not sure, never been there, buuuuut.. these dudes are pushing for full legalization of all psychedelics & other drugs. Slowly but surely it's all coming - maybe a little faster pace now as there's no longer charges for under 2.5g of Anything -> which is paving the way for government regulated safe supply sales of hard drugs eventually.

Meanwhile, in reality, magic mushrooms are literally the safest recreational drug known to man - statistically speaking.

And to many they're not purely recreational, but rather medicinal, helpful & healing.

I really enjoyed those books when I was in school

Is peyote legalized anywhere?
