I still will have a part-time job at a library. And I might also work part-time at the court where I presently work at present.

I got rid of my TV a LONG time ago and don't have much of a social media presence. Since then it seems like most news that filters in to me now is good news. I still keep half-an eye on local news, but not daily.

At first I was afraid I'd miss something, but after a while I've found that there isn't much that is going on that has any real impact on my daily life. The bulk of the bad news isn't anything I have control over, so I don't worry about it.

It just seems to make people angry and bitter and worn out... I'd recommend people taking a break from the 24 hour news cycle for a week and just see for themselves what its actually like. :-)

I don't watch the TV news but unfortunately social media is full of scary news and I can't escape that as easily. Well I could but then I'd have no social life  Although I've found two good non scary niches on WP and Twitter Kindness Train.

I prefer the TV because I can watch specific shows like Strictly Come Dancing and Ghosts etc. and avoid the news. And of course avoid trolls if I just watch TV.

Yes there's not much we can do about world events is there. Too much information isn't normal or healthy for human brains.

I'm running away because of my own inadequacy..... I'm not very good at conversations.

The 'dull' threads suit me most of the time. :)

You can practice conversing here :flower: I am just as bad, I'm hopeless at conversations so I want to practice :)

Nah, I don't always want conversation and prefer it that way. I used to force myself to engage with people and found it draining.

I'm content with posting when I have something to say, and posting on the one word threads and off the wall when I don't want much interaction.

I'll be sure to pop in this thread when the urge for conversation takes over!

Okay, have a nice time on other threads. But you did just have a conversation with me :)
